I built this practice after years of advising clients through the most consequential financial decisions of their lives, and watching too many women navigate divorce without anyone in their corner who truly spoke the language of money. Shore Up Divorce exists to change that.
HER STORY
The why behind Shore Up Divorce.
I've worked in the financial services industry since 2001, working at both large institutions as well as boutique firms in New York City, Santa Monica and Scottsdale, Arizona — where I was born and raised. I earned my Bachelor of Science in Marketing from the University of Arizona, and in many ways, this career chose me: both of my parents worked in financial services, and I grew up with money conversations as a natural part of life.
Early in my career, I moved to New York City to work at OppenheimerFunds, based in the World Trade Center. I was at my desk on the 33rd floor of the South Tower on September 11th, and I count myself among the fortunate ones who made it out. That day changed how I see everything that came after it — how quickly life can shift, and how much it matters to have both a plan and steady support when it does. It's part of why I do this work today: helping people find their footing when their world changes in an instant.
For most of my career, I've focused on financial planning and wealth management as a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER® professional. Over time, I noticed something: the majority of my clients were women, and a large number of them were either navigating a divorce or had already been through one. That pattern led me to add a divorce specialty to my practice and obtain the Certified Divorce Financial Analyst (CDFA®) designation — a niche that, I've come to realize, is still fairly rare in this industry.
What sets my approach apart is that I focus as much on the emotional side of money as the numbers themselves. Our relationship with money is shaped early in life and it keeps evolving as we do. Before my clients can make the big financial decisions that divorce requires, I work with them to understand their own money stories and the fears and attachments that come with it. That clarity is what makes it possible to move forward with confidence — and to take real, concrete steps toward the future they actually want.
I made Laguna Beach my home in 2022, and I pinch myself daily that I get to live in this gorgeous city. Outside of work, you'll usually find me on a beach walk with my goldendoodle, Whiskey, or at a ProVisors networking event with my incredible group of friends and colleagues. I spent 15 years as a dancer and still pop into a jazz or tap class when I can. In 2004, I ran a full marathon and still channel that inner strength it took me to complete the training and race, as running does not come easy for me and my beat up dancer knees.
